About Greg Opinski Construction

Greg Opinski Construction, Inc. excels in building Commercial and Institutional projects.

Our projects range in budget from $200,000 to $60,000,000. Each receives the same personal attention our company is well known for. We are selective with our projects, choosing only the projects that match our management style and abilities. We are not a volume contractor, focused primarily on gross sales.

Greg Opinski is second generation in construction, and leads the team as President of GOCI. Greg performs all of the estimating duties for the company, as well as marketing and client relations. Greg oversees all projects from start to finish.

GOCI is staffed with high-energy individuals who excel in challenging and competitive environments. Our staff is made up of long time employees who are loyal to our company and our clients. We take pride in completing our projects on time and in budget.

Pre-Bid Services

• Provide project review of existing plans
• Provide project consultation with subcontractors
• Provide services for plan distribution
• Provide review of all pre-bid correspondence and RFI’s
• Provide pre-qualification services for review of subcontractor qualifications
• Review qualification of subcontractors and make recommendations to district
• Create project construction schedule and distribute
• Provide input for bid alternates
• Conduct pre-bid meeting with subcontractors
• Review bids at bid opening
• Manage the bid opening process
• Compile bid results and review with owner/architect
• Value engineer project if necessary to reduce costs
• Re-bid portions of the project necessary to assure competitive bids

At Risk Performance

Opinski Construction performs these projects at risk. This means we are providing a bond for 100% of the construction costs. This allows Opinski Construction to wrap-up all of the subcontractors into a contract with Opinski Construction. Doing this will guarantee maximum competitive bidding amongst all trades and accomplish the most cost effective Bond coverage by having Opinski Construction provide it.

“At Risk” also means that we will include a liquidated damages clause in our contracts, to ensure timely completion.

Construction Services

• Write contracts on behalf of the owner
• Manage all correspondence between subcontractors and architect
• Assist architect with the management of the project correspondence
• Maintain RFI, PCO, submittal and change order logs
• Conduct all weekly meeting minutes
• Provide project closeout services
• Provide for completion of punch list
• Provide Operations and Maintenance for school district

Change Orders

Change Orders are processed at cost to Opinski Construction; hard costs for labor, materials, and supervision, plus 8% for overhead apply. Performing this work at cost ensures the owner that we are not motivated to pursue change orders. There is no profit motivation for doing so.
